Night at the Track
A Wisconsin Greyhound Racing Event

About The Event

In the early days of Wisconsin greyhound racing, the sport was the sixth most popular in the USA and a night at the track was the premier social event in town. At Dairyland Greyhound Park and Geneva Lakes Kennel Club, huge crowds packed the facilities from 1990-1993 and race fans were treated to some of the country's top greyhound superstars. At Dairyland, Red Hill Jake, Aksarben Duke and Dicky Vallie were all household names in the Kenosha area while in Delavan, the same was true for Briggs Stratton, Pop Niche and Klemma. The prestigious Greyhound Race of Champions was held at Dairyland on June 26, 1993 and, for 22 years, it was the sport's last national championship race. Over 8,000 race fans packed the track that night to watch Mega Morris from Jacksonville, FL upset local favorite JC's Storm Cloud for the championship prize.

On January 23, 2016 the memories and excitement of this era return to Wisconsin, as we celebrate the sport's newest national championship race, the BetAmerica Daytona 550. Join us at Bristol Oaks Country Club for the inaugural Night at the Track as we honor the past and enter in a new era of greyhound racing, with all proceeds going to greyhound adoption.
